Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have Sunday masses? No, the chapel does not offer any regurlarly schedule services. Sunday mass is offered at our local parish, Saint Elizabeth’s in Lyndonville.
Can anyone visit the chapel? The chapel is open every day and all are welcome to come and pray or rest in a respectful manner.
Why is the chapel here? The chapel was built by the family who also own the adjoining farmland and Stepping Stone Spa. It was built in thanksgiving for the intercession of Our Lady, and is also part of a mission to offer others an opportunity to seek God in a Christian-oriented atmosphere.
I would like to have my wedding at the chapel. Is this possible? Although Bishop Matano of the Burlington Diocese has given the chapel the designation of a private Catholic Chapel, we are not able to offer the chapel for official ceremonies such as weddings, baptisms and funerals. (Even if a priest was brought in from another state.) We understand that, given the number of church closings and scarcity of priests in Vermont, this would create an added burden to the diocese, and respectfully abide by his wishes.
Can our group use the chapel for a retreat?
Private retreats and workshops are a possibility at the chapel and grounds. Please contact us
